Woot, signing papers Monday. I think I'm doing a good job of ignoring any doubt. I know as soon as the papers are signed I'll be stuck with it so I can't wait to do that. It's not that I'm not interested in doing it but it's going to be something that will most likely be harder than anything else I've had to do....ever. That said, I think it will be well worth it. It's just the initial "I'm going to do this" that makes it tough. It's like when you see that huge rollercoaster in the center of the park and from far away you say "damn, that looks awesome". You're kind of caught up in the awe so you hop in line. The closer you get to the front, the more and more anxious you get. Once you see the coasters rolling into the station it's easy to get nervous. When I was younger I always second guessed getting on. Even when I jumped in the car the cart started moving and I hoped that there was some way I could back out right then. Problem was, it already started rolling up a hill. With all the doubt over and over again I was never disappointed at the end. I built up all this fear in myself but by the end I was happy and couldn't wait to do it again. Not saying bootcamp will be exactly like that, but I see everyone else getting off at the end happy they did it.
!!!!!!!!!!exploding inside......in a good way...!!!!!!!

Ok, well it seems I'm going to ge joining for sure. Thing is it will be much sooner......plans as of now will be Jan. 5th to leave for bootcamp. Thats pretty soon.....a month and a half or so. I'm excited. Starting at the end of this week I'll need to be training for this so when I go I won't be as in bad of shape. I talked to one of my mom's good friends today who was in the marines for 30 years. How she explained bootcamp, which was the same way as Eric, was that most of it is mental. The physical part is hard, strenuous, but most of the effort is mentally. It would be jan. 5th to April 3rd, which is graduation! All invited ;)
Tomorrow I'm not sure if I'll be signing up but I will be going with my dad to check it out, get everything set.
Well, I'm going to sleep, Stay Awesome

I know it's a ways off, but I'm actually kind of pumped for my future plans. I may change my mind in a couple months before I sign up, but right now I'm liking the idea. I told my boss at the florist today about it and he said it was "awesome". It was something that he always wanted to do but never got around to it. Now he regrets that decision of not joining. I just said how I want to get through the holidays with him and wait till after wrestlemania before going. I'm about to check out the ASVAB test that I'll need to take when I join. I hope it's as easy as that shorter test I took at the recruiter's. I will need at least a 110 out of idk how high to be eligible for Force Recon.
So just took a break to try a practice test. Idk how they score because it's all done in different sections and not giving a final score at the end. If I just add up all my correct answers out of the 200 I got 137/200. The parts that killed me were electronics and mechanics. I printed out my results, might talk to a recruiter about them soon so I get an idea of how it's graded and how well I did compared to others.
Kind of tired....but I get to sleep in tomorrow!! so night.

Ok, I think I'm pretty sure at this point that I would like to join the Marines. I would like to do the Reserves first and after training I would be able to switch to active whenever I wanted. If I went through bootcamp and decided I'd like to go further it would be awesome to go into Force Recon. I hope this will be something I can push myself through. I talked with my buddy Eric who went through it and he said most of bootcamp is more mental than physical. It's 3 months away from everyone you know in a new place with officers yelling orders at you. Sounds fun :) The second part of training is about a month and is combat training which includes martial arts and firearms. Eric told me this part was the most fun. Sounds like this could be an experience..... My test scores were very good to get in, double the average, which with how easy it was I wonder what half the people will be like there. At least that gives me better opportunities for advancement. If I perform well with training and do well with classes for my specified job I can rank up quickly. Not sure what I'd like to do yet, I'll need to look into it more. I also thought that joining the Marines would give me a reason to get a tatoo! Since I have no good ideas of my own it would be perfect for a marine logo somewhere on me, most likely my back. I'd be signing up in a few months and trying to leave in April or may, after Wrestlemania and all the busy holidays at the florist....
Idk, we shall see..
